Black Friday on Sunday

It’s Sunday, and I am still tying to figure out what the craze was about. I worked at Walmart on Black Friday at five in the morning, and all the “hot items” people would kill for were still there when I clocked out at noon. I believe the intelligent people were not those who waited in line at eight in the evening the day before, but the ones who didn’t have to wait in line at noon to get the same product. Congratulations to those people; I commend you for using your head for thinking and not for ramming into other costumers. As for the rest of you hardcore shoppers:  if you wanted the rush of storming through hundreds of people to get to some thing, being trampled in the process, go to a rock concert—that makes more sense.

Youtube Show?

I am trying to set up a Tuesday show starting net month on Youtube. I don’t know how it will turn out, but I will making a website soon, too. Yay for being semi-productive.

Yeah, he really did just say that.

Phil DeFranco —he is witty, comical, and correct most of the time. He talks about every type of issue from ignorant people to what people are doing in D.C.. Follow his show and what he does on Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter. Also, check out his website. All links are listed below for your humble benefit.

Become a Fan of Not Becoming a Fan

It’s Becoming Ignorant

So you’re sitting at your computer, and you are probably on the popular social networking site Facebook. If you happen to look to your right, you will most likely see suggestions—these are usually pages, people, or things to like on Facebook. Now, you’re probably asking yourself why I am posting this if I was going to list the items found in the suggestions section on your home page; it’s relevant.

Everyday I log into Facebook to check on the status of friends and family and chat for a short period of time. However, I am always interrupted, not literally of course, by those suggestions—most of them are “Become a Fan of” items, most of them being completely ignorant or irrelevant, pointless or unnecessary. Do kids get bored and decided instead of going outside they would rather waste ten minutes of their time making a page about something that is another waste of time? Don’t answer that out loud. I have seen “Become a Fan of” :

Not being shot
I hate “Low Battery”
Becoming a Fan Of (which doesn’t make much sense)
Shiny Things
Inanimate Objects

After a while, you’ve become a fan of hundreds of items, most of which you probably don’t remember. What’s the point anyway? I bet you get satisfaction out of clicking that “Become a Fan Of” button, and I bet it just makes your day. It’s amazing how people have so much time to waste on Facebook. Why not go outside and lose some weight? What about taking up a hobby or sport? Or maybe you could read a book? I guess clicking a button is easier, right?  I’m not saying I haven’t clicked a lot of those because I have. If you were to search my page, I have liked 92 pages on Facebook—I am ultimately ashamed.

I’ll paint this gloomy day so I can stare it for ages. For, what is a gloomy day but a break from perfection?

Poetry Mishaps

It seems the open sky today holds a little secret.
I’ll grab a rope, a stepping stool, and an old worn net—
        I’ll wait for time to say it’s right, and, boy, I’ll be set;
I’ll tear the sky in forty-twos, and discover what’s inside.

Sleep or no sleep? That is the question!

I haven’t slept “properly” in days. You know that uninterrupted, continuous flow of unconscious thought one is suppose to obtain for at least 8 hours? I forget what sleep is after so many days. It’s more of a continuous unnatural flow of tossing and turning—waking up to silence, peaking at the window to guess the time, falling back to sleep for an hour—before waking up and repeating the vicious cycle again.

That is sleep to me. It’s a beast I crave. It’s a torture I want, I long to have; yet, when I get what I want I regret it the very second I have it. I tell myself:

“Maybe, just maybe, tonight will differ from the past, say, week? Yeah, that’s it. Wait, what if it’s like last night? I would hate to waste valuable time to wake up more tired then I was when I went to sleep. Well, maybe I could try once more….maybe.”

And so it’s a never ending occurrence.

How will it end? It’s always a variant with which never comes too early. When it has arrived, I will duly note it for reference. For present necessity, I will push it aside without further acknowledgment…maybe.

Where I want to be…

Today, Tomorrow, & Yesteryear.

Ever wake up one morning and wonder where you’ll be waking up in ten years? Will it be in a new city? Will it be with a partner, or are you going to wake up alone? What will have changed: your personality, your appearance, and/or your well-being?

Obviously, one will not know the answers to these simple appealing-like questions until ten years from now, but one can ponder to entertain oneself about where he/she will be waking up ten years from that day.

Most of people are precarious with their decisions:

For example, one will not think of the consequences of how he/she will look in three years as a result of eating fast food everyday or having lack of exercise in his/her life. Then, when three years comes and he/she has gained several pounds, he/she will complain: “I’m fat.” or “I wish I was a size 4 again.”  It becomes a constant habit. He/she may fall into a depression.

Therefore, isn’t it apparent that, as an individual, not only can one control what happens in his/her lifetime, but….one controls how he/she feels as well? If you’re feeling sad or upset, look back and see what you did as an individual to make your mood change. Then, learn from that. As a result, you will see how you can control your emotions and feelings: “An individual controls his/her feelings, not the people or situations around him/her. No one controls you but you.”

So, if you are one of those people who wake up and find yourself  guessing at ten years from now, just realize what in turn happens at a reality point is up to you and no one else. So base your emotions, moods, and decisions on some thing worth while, not on some thing you will regret ten years from now.
